Money transfers within Russia

Unistream seems to be the most popular system. Works exactly the same as WesternUnion. 1.5%, 1% if the amount is over 30 th. roubles (just under $1000US). Most cities with pouplation over 50 thousand will have a Unistream (Унистрим) office.

The closet one to my apartment that’s available for rent is in the Fish Market (Рыбный рынок).

Baptists in Moscow

They are actually in Zelenograd but it can be considered a part of Moscow, and possibly a privileged part. The site of the Baptist Church still tolerated in Zelenograd is http://www.zelbaptist.org/  Whatever info on Zelenograd comes to my attention will be added to Small town. Since it is in the state of flux I am not pointing to a specific URL. See the Category menu or use Search.

Time-capsule “Komissionka”

A nearly untouched by time consignment store found at Preobrazhensky val 25, next to a church or a monastery with a large “Иконописная мастерская” (icon-painting shop) sign.

What a pattern. Things I like appear to aggregate around religious establishments, which I don’t like. Yes, there is a story why but it is beyond the scope of this Uncle Pasha’s Moscow project.

A legal alcohol outlet on ul. Lusinovskaya

This one pretents to be not a store but a bar, which allows it to sell at night. Ulitsa Lusinovskaya 48/50, kv. 10. It is where Lusinovskaya crosses Pavla Andreyeva, and the store’s dore is right at the corner. Nearest metro: Dobryninskaya or Tulskaya. Based on eyewitness report. To be investigated soon.
