Just got two reports. First, about a prostitution and drugs bust there yesterday in one of Moscow’s advertising papers: http://www.metronews.ru/novosti/v-stolice-zaderzhali-30-prostitutok-iz-v-etnama/Tpoldm—Ny2vsVztUYwaM/, which sort of implies the market is still there. Second, an eyewitness report it is business as usual. See Vietnamese market >> I’M ASKED ABUT IT REGULARLY AND WILL APPRECIATE AN UPDATE.
Called Клуб разумных покупателей (klub razumnykh pokupateley, club of intelligent buyers). Moved to Ulitsa Anatolia Zhivova 6, under the “Гирлянды” sign. Eight minutes walk from Metro 1905. MORE>>
www.siroedov.ru, Russian only. A standard selection of overpriced “health” type items. Order via their site, pick up things at Maly Kiselny 6, apt. 1, (495) 727-8139. Among items noticed is birch tar soap, a delightfully stinking thing.
Лусюнь (Lu-sung?), Metro Profsoyuznaya, ul. Krizhanovskogo 18, korpus 1, daily 11am to 11pm. Described by a Chinese food fan as highly authentic, with huge servings and nobody speaking either Russian or English. The menu is in pictures.
Usually the package does not have any info who makes it. The package I bough a couple of days ago at the Hare Krishna store at Selskokhozyaystvennaya 36 had it however. It is 111141 Moscow, ulitsa Elektrodnaya 10, stroyeniye 2, (495) 672 7598, 795 6937.
A new Spanish Court store just opened up in the Fish Market in Zamoskvorechye. Unlike the Metro Alexeyevskaya location this one is likely to have English/Spanish speaking staff, and their site www.spanish-food.ru is at least part English. No, I have not yet visited this one personally but I’ve been going to the Alexeyevskaya location for vinegar, olive oil, and wine since about 2010.
Vegetarian hangouts, organic vegetables, soap made from something other than boiled animal bones etc. Ecological causes and organizations. Lots on particularly vicious food products or additives. Packed with info that feels up to date. Russian only.
